Mad Dog: The mad dog in To Kill A Mockingbird symbolizes many things. But it specifically talking about the "madness" that Atticus had to face while he was taking Tom Robinson´s case. The community had no confidence towards Atticus since he was defending a African American. Another thing is that dog represents an illness. The illness is what the people in Maycomb have towards black people saying the racism that they have inside of them trying to close it behind doors.
White Camellias: The white Camellias represent the racism and prejudice found in Maycomb County. The fact that her camellias are white hints towards the racial tensions in Maycomb. Also the White Camellia is a symbol of the Ku Klux Klan. When Mrs. Dubose gave Jem a white Camellia it was showing that she is racist and she's in the KKK. Mrs. Dubose has a whole garden full of these flowers,so that is showing that she is very racist.
Snow man: The snowman in To kill A Mockingbird is symbolism for racism in the 1930s. This is due to the fact that the top of the snowman is white and the bottom is darker. The white represents white supremacy and the dark represents Tom Robinson. It is basically saying that if you are white you are better than blacks because when it melted the white was on top and the black was on the bottom. This shows that the 1930s were a very racist time period.

Closed Doors: The Closed doors represent illness and that illness also represents racism but the people in maycomb they hide it behind closed doors and they think by hiding it it is cool and no one will find out about it. For example Atticus hides his racism behind closed doors and he thinks that by not showing it it's nice but then you could lose your relationship with other people by lying. Another example is the father of Boo Radley was hiding him behind closed doors for the illness couldn't get to him saying the racism.
The door is closed at the radley place.
